Abstract

Abstract

The importance of the impact of the environment on the daily life of individuals and families has been the subject of scientific interest in social work practically since the beginning of the formation of the profession. Over time, the understanding of the concept of the client's environment changes. The content of the term gradually expands, until finally in the 20th century it absorbs the environment as a whole. The growing interest in environmental issues is linked to the consequences of global warming, which are linked with local climate crises. The aim of the contribution, which has the character of a theoretical study, is to present the basic theses of environmental social work, which is currently understood as a new field of social work and to outline the possibilities of its establishment in the Slovak environment.
